The funeral home director was a jealous man
He called his wifeโs work everyday the same time
But on the twelfth of August the phone never rang
And that was the day she left him โ or so heโd say
ย
The police became suspicious when her sister called
To say she thought the husband was involved
And he broke down under questioning and he told
The story of the week before โ and hereโs how it goes:
ย
โShe was gonna leave me but I couldnโt let go
As I need her more than anything that Iโve known
And I lost control for a second then I thought
Of her being free โ then me not getting caught
ย
Then I stabbed her several times in the chest
And I kept her body cold for the rest of that week
Until the closed casket service of an old woman from around here
With my wife underneath
