Stealing was a charge
Ned Kelly wasn't large
His mother tried to help, was put in jail
He had to grease them up
Conspired to wreck and rob
He killed three lawmen who were on their trail
He had five-thousand Pounds upon his head
"Dead or Alive" the wanted poster said
For ten whole years, Sergeant Steele, Fitzpatrick, and company
Robbed the Ned's and John Sadleir they'd get them finally
The madman clad in iron lived a life bold bold and free!
He was a hero to the poor, a legend in history
Confusion he enjoyed
The land he'd see destroyed!
This helpful farm is archer ridden
Glenrowan was the town
Where they gunned Ned Kelly down!
He failed to derail a train and tried to flee
The outlaw's armor covered chest and head
But the waiting posse filled his legs with lead
ย
They took him back to Melbourne
Where he was soon betrayed
The sentence was a hangman's rope by which Ned Kelly died
The madman clad in iron lived a life bold bold and free!
He was a hero to the poor, a legend in history
The madman clad in iron lived a life bold bold and free!
He was a hero to the poor, a legend in history
