I came down from Denver
Following the band
I don't know what they call themselves
But I like the way they jam
The drummer's got a girlfriend
And she takes care of them
But I came down from Denver
And I don't have a plan
I remember back in Memphis
We were holding hands
Singing to the King
Out on the front lawn of Graceland
The rain was pouring down
On all the Elvis fans
Running out of money
We just had to make Cheyenne
Fevered dreams on river beds
Mescaline up in our heads
I lost you in the mountains
Where you found yourselves

I came down from Denver
Now I'm sleeping in van
I don't know just how long I'll stay
Or if I'll be back again
Maybe in the morning
I'll head up to Spokane
But I came down from Denver
And I don't have a plan
Yeah, I came down from Denver
And I don't have a plan
