The lyrics can be heard as humorous boasting, but the repetition also makes the speaker seem deliberately shallow or calculating: he claims to value communication while treating romance as temporary. The final broken, simplified German may imitate an outsider’s speech, or it may caricature someone relying on crude phrases rather than real understanding. The song leaves open whether the speaker is celebrating freedom and movement or exposing the limits of his charm.
