So many different religions, and
So many different churches, and
If God really loves me, then why does life keep hurtin' me?
If you've ever asked any of these questions
Well, my friend, I've got the answer, just listen
You have the power to make the seasons change
The river flows for You
The wind whispers Your name
For me, You left Your throne
And traded crown for thorns instead
I'm saved within, not by Your skin
But because Your blood was red
Some say You're black, You're white
They question if You're real
We treat You like we treat ourselves
I wonder how You feel
To see Your children fight
In spite the tears for us, You've shed (mmm, mmm, oh)
Doesn't matter what color You are
As long as Your blood was red
For it's (strong enough) strong enough
(To wash away) yeah (my sins) mmm
It's pure enough (pure enough) yeah, yeah
(To cleanse me deep within) it's real
(Real enough) oh, oh, yeah, yeah
(To find me when I'm lost) and it's great enough
(Great enough) oh, yeah, yeah
(To die upon the cross)
'Cause it doesn't matter what color You are
As long as Your blood was red (thank You)
We may be different, but
The God we serve's the same
Yet every Sunday we separate
And bring the Father pain
Your name is (higher than any other)
Yet You took my place instead (ooh, yes, You did)
Ahora mis pecados son limpios
Because Your blood was red (remember it's)
(Strong enough) strong enough
(To wash away my sins) oh, oh, yeah, yeah
And it's (pure enough) pure enough
(To cleanse me deep within) thank You, Fahter
For it's (real enough) real enough
(To find me) yeah-yeah (when I'm lost) oh, oh, oh my
(Great enough) great enough, yeah
(To die upon the cross) yeah-yeah, mmm
Doesn't matter what color You are (yeah-yeah)
(As long as Your blood was red)
Everybody, sing it with us
(Oh, precious) oh, precious (is the flow) that makes me
(That makes me) white as (white as snow) hallelujah!
(No other) no other (fount I know) yeah, yeah
Doesn't matter what color You are
(As long as Your blood) yeah, yeah (was red) yeah, yeah
Doesn't matter (yeah) what color You are
(As long as Your blood was red, red)
It doesn't matter what color I am
(As long as My blood was red)
