Dreams

The lyrics move from loss and confusion toward hope. At first, the world seems drained of color, love is fading, and the speaker describes broken hopes. The mood then becomes encouraging: the speaker urges someone to keep going, rise above hardship, and believe that they can build a stronger future together.

Several images express this change. “The world turns black and white” suggests that life has lost its warmth or excitement. “Reach for the golden ring” means aiming for something valuable or difficult to achieve, while “spread your wings” compares gaining confidence to a bird beginning to fly. The image of a train running off its track suggests events becoming chaotic or moving in the wrong direction.

The repeated idea of getting “higher and higher” may mean growing stronger, reaching goals, or escaping painful circumstances; the lyrics do not specify exactly what success looks like. “Dry your eyes” is a comforting way to ask someone to stop crying, not a literal instruction. The ending connects dreams with love, implying that hope and affection help people endure. Still, the promises are broad, and the song leaves open what the future will bring.
