To every christian soldier who's ever gotten weary from the battle of life, let me remind you that Jesus is your captain
and because he is your captain you cannot fail, you can't retreat, you can't give up, your assignment is not over, God's got work for you to do so soldier on
Soldier onWhen it seems like you're losing and the battle's not worth fighting
You must carry on, carry on
(Remember)Failure's not an option
When Jesus is your captain
Soldier, you can't retreat
You must soldier on
(Some soldier listening to me is experiencing the agony of heartache)
Soldier on(Sometimes the people you trust, they are the ones that hurt you the most)
Someone you trust in betrayed you so
It seems the pain will never go
But you must carry on(you gotta carry on)carry on
(But you gotta find the strength to get up, come out of that depression)
You'll overcome, you'll be alright
If you can just endure the night
Soldier you can't retreat
You must soldier on
Soldier onYou lost your loved one and it hurts you
Don't let the pain and grief destroy you
But you must carry on, carry on
You'll see the one you love again on the other side in Heaven
Soldier you can't retreat
You must soldier on
I know you must get tired, I know you must get weary
But you've fought too long and hard to forfeit your victory
I know you must get tired and so weary
Just don't ever give up even though you get tired
Ask your father for courage
and square your shoulders faithful
Soldier the battle's not over
Square your shoulder and Soldier on
You can't retreat, you must soldier on
With God on your side, you will never failoh... With God on your side, the victory will prevail
Soldier, the battle's not over
You can't retreat, you must soldier
Soldier onYou'll overcome, put your faith in God
Soldier onYou'll overcome, put your faith in God
Soldier onYou'll overcome, put your faith in God
Soldier onYou'll overcome, put your faith in God
Soldier the battle's not over
Square your shoulders and soldier on
You can't retreat, you must soldier on
You'll overcome but you must soldier on
