I was so tired of my lady
We'd been together too long
Like a worn out recording
Of a favorite song
So while she lay there sleepin'
I read the paper in bed
And in the personal column
Was a letter I read
If you like piña coladas (Coladas)
And getting caught in the rain (Caught in the rain)
If you're not into yoga (Yoga)
And should have half a brain (Half a brain)
If you like makin' love at midnight (Midnight)
In the dunes of the cape (Dunes of the cape)
Then I'm the love that you've looked for (For)
Write to me and escape
I didn't mean about my lady
I know that sounds kinda mean
But me and my old lady
Had fallen into the same old old routine
So I wrote to the paper
To get a personal ad
And though I'm nobody's poet
I thought it wasn't half bad
Yes, I like piña coladas (Coladas)
And getting caught in the rain (Caught in the rain)
I'm not much into health food (Health food)
But I am into champagne (Champagne)
I got a mixture by tomorrow noon (Tomorrow noon)
That could put all this world to sea (World to sea)
In a bar called the Melody's (Melody's)
Where I plan to escape
So I waited with high hopes
And then she walked in the place
I knew her smile in an instant
I knew the curve of her face
It was my own lovely lady
And she said, "Oh, it's you"
And then we laughed for a moment
And I said, "I never knew"
That you like piña coladas (Coladas)
And getting caught in the rain (Caught in the rain)
And the feel of the ocean (Ocean)
And the taste of champagne (Champagne)
'Cause you like makin' love at midnight (Midnight)
In the dunes of the cape (Dunes of the cape)
You're the love that I've looked for (For)
Come with me and escape
If you like piña coladas (Coladas)
And getting caught in the rain (Caught in the rain)
If you're not into yoga (Yoga)
And should have half a brain (Half a brain)
If you like makin' love at midnight (Midnight)
In the dunes of the cape (Dunes of the cape)
Then I'm the love that you've looked for (For)
Write to me and escape
