Siamo soli

The speaker describes a strained relationship in which two people are physically together but emotionally distant. They talk often, yet one feels unheard, and intimacy does not necessarily bring them closer. The mood shifts between frustration and a plain admission: living together is difficult, and the speaker may have believed more strongly than the other person that the relationship could work.

“Siamo soli” means “we are alone.” Repeated as a refrain, it can suggest shared isolation: both people are lonely, even in each other’s company. The contrast between “we are here” and “you don’t listen to me” makes presence feel different from real connection. “Everything can happen now” also carries a double possibility: the moment might bring change, but it could just as easily deepen the uncertainty.

The lyrics do not clearly say whether the couple will separate or find a way forward. Their repeated claim that they are alive leaves room for resilience, while the tears and the speaker’s plea to stop crying suggest pain that has not been resolved. “We are alone” may be a bleak judgment, but because it includes “we,” it can also sound like an acknowledgment of a condition they share rather than an accusation aimed at only one person.
