Lyrics meaning

The speaker is still deeply attached to someone who has left. Hearing the silence brings memories of that person back, and longing grows into a painful desire to speak and say “I love you.” The repeated statement that the speaker is still here, waiting, gives the song a sense of emotional suspension: time seems unable to move forward while the speaker hopes for a return. Yet there is also a small opening toward hope—the possibility of beginning again.

“Silence” seems to “shout” the person’s name, a striking image for how absence can make memories feel especially loud. The “lament of love” suggests sorrow that continues without an easy end. The speaker’s wish to “start once more” is not just a wish to reunite, but an imagined chance to repair or renew the relationship.

The lyrics do not explain why the other person left, or whether that person will come back. This uncertainty shapes the speaker’s pain: they are waiting without understanding what happened. The hope of a fresh beginning may be sincere, but the repeated waiting also suggests difficulty accepting the separation. The song can therefore be heard as both a plea for reconciliation and a portrait of someone caught between memory and the possibility of moving on.
