Lyrics
If there was a dog squad cemetery
Where in the world now would it be
It don't matter' cause a legacy never dies
Many a soldier met their end
Killed in action with man's best friend
For reasons few can comprehend
For justice gave their lives
Dog Squad we will remember sacrifices you made
Just one dog and a handler so many lives that you saved
Dog Squad we'll never forget you man and his best friend
Just one dog and a soldier faithful right to the end
Many an ambush compromised, no patrol taken by surprise
Your scent and speed and ears and eyes surely saved the day
Forward into the firing line fraught by gunshot or landmine
Human warrior right behind
Both died in the fray
Dog Squad we will remember sacrifices you made
Just one dog and a handler so many lives that you saved
Dog Squad we'll never forget you man and his best friend
Just one dog and a soldier faithful right to the end
If there was a dog squad cemetery soldiers lying there will be
Honoured for their bravery they'll be heaven bound
Bouvier Bloodhound, Alsation Labrador or Doberman
No matter your breed we know you're in the happy hunting ground
Dog Squad we will remember sacrifices you made
Just one dog and a handler so many lives that you saved
Dog Squad we'll never forget you man and his best friend
Just one dog and a soldier faithful right to the end
Faithful right to the end-faithful right to the end
