Back when I was seventeen
I'd say all I wanna be
Was twenty-one and having fun
I was free and I was young
I met you at twenty-three
We filled our heads with crazy dreams
Get a house and settle down
Can't believe that time is now
People say you gotta change one day
You gotta act your age
Well I wanna grow up
But I don't wanna grow old
I wanna look in your eyes
Like the first time
And always be as young as we are tonight
We don't have to grow old
We don't have to grow old
There's always things you gotta do
That you don't want to
But that don't mean that we can't laugh
And dance all night like we used to
It's 2am, the baby's crying
We're swaying to a lullaby
People say you gotta change
Well I wanna grow up
But I don't wanna grow old
I wanna look in your eyes
Like the first time
And always be as young as we are tonight
We don't have to grow old
We don't have to grow old
I don't care about anyone else, no no no
Why should we stop being ourselves?
Even when we're grey and old
I'll still laugh at all your dirty jokes
I'm always gonna hold your hand
I'm never gonna understand why people say you gotta change
Well I wanna grow up
But I don't wanna grow old
I wanna look in your eyes
Like the first time
And always be as young as we are tonight
We've gotta, gotta grow up
We don't have to grow old
We don't have to grow old, no
Grow old, no oh yeah
We don't have to grow old
