The lyrics begin with confidence in a loving bond that can endure “space and time.” Against that intimacy, the speaker imagines hostile forces falling away. The mood then grows more dramatic: an angel appears, armies approach, and the vision expands into plague, blood, and a future city. Yet the repeated reassurance that the lovers will remain gives the song a hopeful, almost prophetic emotional arc.

“Seven” seems to stand for a group of threats or opponents, though the lyrics do not clearly identify them. To “smoke them” means to defeat or overcome them, while the claim that they will “die” may suggest the end of their power rather than literal death. The angel’s “key” and words of peace contrast with the marching army, setting compassion against conflict. The city with golden streets evokes an ideal future where suffering and death have ended.

The song mixes romantic devotion with spiritual or apocalyptic imagery, so its exact meaning remains open. The lovers’ promise may be personal, while the “seven” and the future vision may symbolize broader struggles between love and hostility. Its certainty sounds triumphant, but the strange and grand images also make the speaker’s vision feel symbolic rather than a straightforward prediction.
