A Forest

The lyrics describe someone drawn into a forest by the promise of finding a girl. At first, the voice seems to guide the speaker forward, but the search becomes a lonely chase. The emotional movement is from curiosity and urgency to confusion, then to the bleak recognition that the goal may never have existed.

The forest suggests a place where it is easy to lose direction, both literally and emotionally. “Follow your eyes” sounds like an invitation to trust what the speaker sees, yet the darkness makes seeing unreliable. The girl’s voice, heard calling the speaker’s name, acts like a lure: it gives the chase a sense of purpose, even though it leads deeper into the trees. “Running towards nothing” plainly expresses effort without progress.

The ending makes the scene feel less like a successful search than a repeated pattern. “It’s always the same” and the repeated “again” suggest the speaker has experienced this failure before, or feels trapped in a cycle of hope and disappointment. The girl may be an actual figure within the imagined scene, or a symbol of something desired but unreachable. The lyrics do not explain what she represents, leaving the forest’s meaning open.
