I say I walk with Jesus, walkin' in my freedom, talkin' like a leader
Every time the week's up, kick back with my feet up
Laid out on my beach chair, it's okay to ease up
Little time for leisure, I'm enjoying life, but
If I get too cozy, I blow up my light bulb
Then the world won't see, trampled under cold feet
Then I'm good for nothin', but rappin' over cold beats
Man, there goes another one, holy when I'm on stage
Man, that's just a cover-up, corner when I'm offstage
Lookin' out for number one, tryin' to make friends with the A-lists
Becomin' preoccupied with my paychecks, sorta like a play chest
Caught up in the matrix, had a bigger heart when I was workin' down that pay list
Now I get ball-readin', rather make record deals
Sit up in a ball meetin', talk about record sales
Now I want a toy to keep, money on my credit cards
If I lose focus of Jesus, then I'm better off bein' cursed
I don't think that we alert, when we only read the verses
In a word, when we in church, but that's the gospel industry
Travelin' that cold trail, what happened to the ministry?
Man, it's gettin' so stale, recyclin' the same song
For fear that it won't sell, therefore we won't tell
Listen that, that they'll go to hell
Goin' to the workshops, creepin' in the hotels
Shh, if you don't say a word, then I won't tell
The fruit of King James' indiscretions grow still
Covered up in fig leaves, then I'm just a fig tree
