Lyrics
There are voices in our world from all directions
Many claim to preach the way of Christ
Yet when you ask for biblical instruction
On how one can be saved and secure eternal life
You get all kinds of various opinions
From, shake the preacher 's hand to say a prayer
The Word of God leaves nothing to imagination
The answer appears clearly in Peter's words at Pentecost
He told us who"Every single one of you"
He told us how"In the name of Jesus Christ"
He told us why"For remission of all sins"
He told us who
He told us how
He told us why
The church was born on that Pentecostal morning
As the Holy Spirit fell on those who stayed
Many left the building bored and hungry
They didn't heed the Lord to wait and pray
But those who did received revelation
As the Spirit caused their minds to understand
Everything the Lord had ever taught them
When He walked upon the earth as a man
When Jerusalem was stirred by Peter's sermon
Delivered on this birthday of the faith
They asked Peter and the other brethren"What must we do to access God's great grace"
Peter answered with such clarity and purpose
There's no reason anyone can't understand
God's simple faith-based plan of salvation
Relied upon this three point command
He told us who"Every single one of you"
He told us how"In the name of Jesus Christ"
He told us why"For remission of all sins"
He told us who
He told us how
He told us why
When we believe the message preached of Messiah
And we accept by faith that God has made a way
For us to enter Heaven's land of wonder
And to one day see the Lord face to face
We should turn from sin to faith in God's promise
Rush to the water to be baptized in His name
Emerging from our grave to newborn newness
The Holy Ghost ignites in us a flame
No longer will God walk along beside us
He'll live in us, breathing life into our soul
Faith without action is of no value
If we believe we will obey and that's how all will know
It's not enough to trust what God's Word tells us
We must also learn to trust Him and obey
His power He'll impart to live like Jesus
And all we have to do is follow Peter's plan
He told us who"Every single one of you"
He told us how"In the name of Jesus Christ"
He told us why"For remission of all sins"
He told us who
He told us how
He told us why
He told us who"Every single one of you"
He told us how"In the name of Jesus Christ"
He told us why"For remission of all sins"
He told us who
He told us how
He told us why
You now know who"Every single one of you"
You now know how"In the name of Jesus Christ"
You now know why"For remission of all sins"
You now know who
You now know how, You now know why
He told us who"Every single one of you"
He told us how"In the name of Jesus Christ"
He told us why"For remission of all sins"
He told us who
He told us how
He told us why
So get up from your seat
Run for the altar
Prepare to be baptized in His name
You will feel the power of the blessed Holy Spirit
As they did on Pentecost
For our God is still the same
He told us who"Every single one of you"
He told us how"In the name of Jesus Christ"
He told us why"For remission of all sins"
He told us who
He told us how
He told us why
He told us who
He told us how
He told us why
He told us who
He told us how
He told us why
Do it now
