Bip bip

The lyrics describe a man stuck in traffic who tries to stay calm after missing an appointment. At first he treats the delay lightly, noticing the sunny weather and telling himself not to get upset. His mood shifts when he notices a woman in the car beside him: irritation gives way to curiosity and a wish to speak with her. A sudden storm brings them together briefly, but when traffic moves again, they part with friendly gestures.

The repeated “bip bip” imitates car horns, adding a playful sound to the scene. “Il pleut des seaux” literally means “it’s raining buckets,” an expression for very heavy rain. The man’s remark that being late is “something gained” suggests he is not eager to meet his boss’s daughter; the traffic delay gives him a convenient excuse. By contrast, he is eager to help the woman when the rain catches her by surprise.

The ending is warm but deliberately uncertain. Their smiles and farewell suggest a small connection, yet they simply drive away in different directions. “Tomorrow” may be a hopeful, casual way to imagine meeting again, not a firm plan. The lyrics turn an ordinary traffic jam into a light romantic possibility without claiming that anything more will happen.
