Feels like forever, still I think of you often
Seasons of Seinfeld in that shitty apartment
Where I said I loved you
For the first time in August
I lost most of the photos
But I kept all the memories
The smell of your perfume
The way you take your coffee
That I'd make you drink
'Cause you said I woke up too early
As time goes by, I will always be
On a couch with you
In St. Louis, Missouri
If I could rewind
I would never leave
That old couch with you
Why were we so good
So good
If it's no good for me?
Why were we so good
So good
If it's no good for me?
ย
I keep up with our old friends just to see how you're doing
I heard he's a good man, and they told me you moved in
It hurts me to say I'm still writing love songs about you
I know we had something. I'm just trying to see God's plan
Still, part of me believes that it was just timing
But if he's the one for you, I'm so happy you found him
As time goes by, I will always be
On a couch with you
In St. Louis, Missouri
If I could rewind
I would never leave
That old couch with you
Why were we so good
So good
If it's no good for me?
Why were we so good
So good
If it's no good for me?

Life keeps moving. I'm still lying
On that couch with you
Miles apart, but I'm still lying
On that couch with you
Why were we so good?
