from the train on to the plane
over oceans under rain
i'm coming home
yes i'm coming home
i wrote this little postcard
to show you i'm not so far
coming home
yes i'm coming home
- DEREK -
when i was a kid i couldn't have been a bigger dreamer
slaying evildoers like heroes in movie theaters
walking on the moon like michael jackson was my teacher
leaping through the clouds like super mario was my leader
and that's why i grew up always trying to save the princess
spitting and throwing fire always defiant with my fist up
but the twist was i fell off and developed
an obsessive compulsive need for splendor and adventure
so much that i had left ya picked up my things and left ya
i split and jetted so quick that i didn't even get the chance ta
bid ya goodbye say god be with ye
i'm sorry that i'm gone but listen i promise to redeem
cuz now i understand what all of y'all mean
y'all not just where i come from you're my constant that leads
me on my travels while i'm snatching taking a hold of the stars
i'm going going back to back home where you are
- THERESA -
best friend its been a minute since we grew independent
thinking of you picture of you in a pendant
it got me pensive cuz friendships are foreign to me
for some reason they're so few and far in between
i know its partially me i'm not convenient to love
that's a nice way of saying i'm deeply fucked up
but you saw past this mask that i've crafted
hard headed rapper with this heart made of plastic
were you drafted a personal soldier
i'm thankful fate chose you to perch atop my shoulder
guardian angel stuck through the storm without
hardly a raincoat honest im grateful
but it took too long to find the heart to say so
now that you're gone i use the stars as a payphone
hope you get the message doubt the post office sends em
can't do much with postcards postmarked to heaven you know
- TAIYO -
it's ya boy tai tai that's what you called me
way back in ny felt like the army
school of the hard knocks and hard parties hey
hard rocks hard times and hard stories
i see it everywhere from different car seats
philly late night look twice before parking
on along arch street i see the same faces
carving out a place for themselves once placeless
it's so amazing where life takes us
similar wrinkles on t's father sacred
just like a painting so breathtaking
people really are people whether nameless
basic rules that'll take you laws that'll make you
see pain as the same anywhere painful
boston i'm thankful cali i'm grateful
good folks worldwide keep my faith full
