Lyrics
One misty November morn
A raven came to me
It bore no song, nor gift of love
But a sign of things to be
It sailed upon the Northern winds
Snow beneath its wings
A warning of impending dark
And the cold winter brings
The shadow of the raven
An omen black as night
Lead me from the darkness
Into the dawning light
And as I watched it cross the sky
A single tear fell from my eye
For I knew all too well
Winter shall come and things shall die
The shadow of the raven
An omen black as night
Lead me from the darkness
Into the dawning light
The shadow of the raven
Cold and black as night
Lead me from the darkness
Into the coming light
After months of winter cold
The raven did return
It brought with it a sprig of green
And from this, I did learn
Though clouds may dim the morning sky
As summer blossoms wither and die
So too shall all new things grow
When warm rains melt the winter snow
The shadow of the raven
An omen black as night
Lead me from the darkness
Into the dawning light
The shadow of the raven
Cold and black as night
Lead me from the darkness
Into the coming light
