Lyrics
I know you're weary from the battle
But you've never faltered by the way
There is a promise that will help you to go on
Soon it will be homecoming day
When the Father comes to take us home to stay
Homecoming day, when the waiting is over
Homecoming day, all these earthly trials are through
Heaven will be worth it all, soon we will hear the call
That tells us this is homecoming day
We've had friends and loved ones cross the river
No longer here, they're now on heaven's shore
And we're resting in the promise, oh that we will meet again
When we hear the call to fly away
We'll unite with them on homecoming day
Homecoming day, when the waiting is over
Homecoming day, all these earthly trials are through
Heaven will be worth it all, soon we will hear the call
That tells us this is homecoming day
What joy to reunite with our families
And our friends that we've not seen for a while
And what greater joy to finally see our Father
And to hear Him say, "Welcome home, my child"
Homecoming day, when the waiting is over
Homecoming day, all these earthly trials are through
Heaven will be worth it all, so soon we're gonna hear the call
That tells us this is homecoming day
That tells us this is homecoming day
Homecoming day, homecoming day
