Took a trip to the closet and tried on my prom dress, and it ripped
I don't know why I thought it might fit
I'm a whole different girl than I was when it zipped
And my body looks nothing like it did with I was sixteen
Not like the ones I see in magazines
But it plays my guitar, so it's perfect for me
So I'm gonna thank god, yeah I'm gonna thank god
When things don't fit
Cause why would I look like I did in high school?
I hated that shit
I unbutton my pants at the restaurant when I take a seat
I don't calculate anything that I eat
Cause no one gives a fuck bout the size of my jeans
And I'm gonna thank god, yeah I'm gonna thank god
When things don't fit
Cause why would I look like I did in high school?
I hated that shit
Yeah I'm gonna thank god, yeah I'm gonna thank god
When things don't fit
Cause why would I look like I did in high school?
I hated that shit
Oh, and nobody turns 95 and wishes that they'd bodychecked
Nobody looks back on life and wishes that they'd been more stressed
And nobody eats birthday cake and wishes they'd enjoyed it less
And nobody gives a shit if you rip up an old prom dress
And I'm gonna thank god when things don't fit
I'm gonna thank god, I'm gonna thank god
When things don't fit
I'm gonna thank god, I'm gonna thank god
When things don't fit
Cause why would I look like I did in high school?
I hated that shit
Yeah I'm gonna thank god, I'm gonna thank god
When things don't fit
