Kozmic Blues

The speaker looks back on years of effort, disappointment, and loneliness. Time has passed, friends have drifted away, and growing older has not brought clear answers or made the speaker feel more capable of loving someone. Still, the song moves from frustration toward determination: despite repeated hurt, the speaker insists on continuing and trying.

The repeated idea of “moving on” suggests both surviving hardship and being unable to settle or find an explanation. “A fire inside” can be understood as inner energy or desire—the force that helps a person keep going. The warning that something may “disappear when you turn your back” points to how love, opportunity, or happiness can be temporary and may need attention while it is present.

The lyrics do not resolve whether the speaker is addressing a lover, speaking more generally about life, or shifting between the two. The speaker admits that they may not be able to love “right,” yet also says they will keep trying. This tension makes the message less like a promise of success than an acceptance that pain and uncertainty are part of living. The closing encouragement to keep going offers hope, though it does not erase the hurt.
