I was friends with a lion for a day
And even though my heart was warning me to stay away
The lion reeked of rage, but had nice things to say
So I was friends with a lion for a day
Closer and closer it came
A good friend or good at pretending anyway
It reached for my heart with a smile on its face
And I was friends with a lion for a day
I was friends with a lion for a day
Hypnotized by the beauty of its face
But the more it smiled, the more I saw its fangs
And blood always leaves a stain
Closer and closer it came
A good friend or good at pretending anyway
It reached for my heart with a smile on its face
And I was friends with a lion for a day
I looked for the kindness in a killer
And I denied the danger in my mind
Kept telling myself that everything would be okay
But the nature of the beast cannot be tamed
Closer and closer it came
A good friend or good at pretending anyway
It reached for my heart with a smile on its face
And I was friends with a lion
It ripped out my heart with a smile on its face
I was friends with a lion
