Oldest girl
I'll always be the oldest girl
I'll always be the oldest girl
I'll always be the oldest girl, yeah, yeah
Parentified, talkin' to myself, I can't identify
Who it is I wanna be and who I am inside
There's a lady in the mirror I don't recognize
Like, who am I? Who was I called to be?
How can I be myself when I don't know me?
Feel like I owe the world, but it don't owe me
Overcompensate for baggage people don't see, yeah
Oldest girl
I'll always be the oldest girl
I'll always be the oldest girl
I'll always be the oldest girl
You gotta cook and clean and wash everything
You got a roof over your head, what more do you need?
For the longest, those words have been followin' me
So much so as an adult I forgot I had needs
I forgot it was my world too
I wasn't brought in this world to be a step stool
I am just as great as whoever I stand next to
Even if I'm not who you expected to, but still I'll always be the oldest girl
I know I'm not the only girl
Surrounded, still a lonely girl, sincerely, your oldest girl
Oldest girl, oldest girl
I'll always be the oldest girl
I'll always be the oldest girl
I'll always be the oldest girl
