Lyrics
Number 11, judges, George Pegrum from Union Grove, North Carolina
George made a big hit with us last year. Mighty happy to
Have him back again. Number 11, George Pegrum from Union
Grove, North Carolina (Yeah) . Here he comes right now (Go)
Well, John Henry was just a little baby boy
No bigger than the palm of your hand
He got up a hundred and twenty billion pieces
Gonna be a steel rattlin' man, Lord, Lord
Gonna be a steel rattlin' man
Well, John Henry went up on the mountain
And he looked upon the other side
Well, the rock was so tall, John Henry let it fall
Well, he laid down his hammer and he cried, Lord, Lord
Laid down his hammer and he cried
Well, John Henry had a little old mama
And her name was Pollyanna
John Henry, he got so damn bored
With his Polly, broke out a steel rattlin' man, Lord, Lord
Broke out a steel rattlin' man
