I'm still in high school
And uh, what inspires my like writing
Is basically like my life
I like actually making situations
Making people feel exactly what I went through
While people are listening to it
It's like this is what I went through
And this how it affected me
God damn, I don't understand what's going around me
Twenty tickets but I still drive through the county
It's a small town (small town)
Yeah, you know about me (know about me)
Type of place where everybody know everybody
Almost got arrested going seventy in twenty-five
I was seventeen and let me tell you those were better times
'Cause I don't understand what I'm doing right now
But fuck it, I'm twenty-three and I got time on my side
I've been doing what I want when I want to
I'm fucked up and doing everything that feels right
Why can't I just be a kid forever?
Not right now, but one day I'll get my shit together
They tell me I won't make it, if I don't than I'm fucked
But what's the point of living if you never have fun 'cause
I'm just a midwest kid
I'm just a (I'm just a midwest kid)
I never knew it'd feel like this
(I never knew it'd feel like this)
ย
I dyed my hair last night 'cause I was dying inside
I've been red in the eyes
And it's not a surprise anymore
I got clothes on the floor
I got liquor in the drawer
Feeling like I don't wanna live anymore
I barely talk to my homies back home anymore
I can't pick up the phone anymore
'Cause I've been a thousand places
I've spent some time in LA
Still can't seem to find my placement (my placement)
But fuck it I chase it
I can't change it
I hate that I don't hate it man this shit doesn't make sense
But I think every other place is over rated
I think every other place is over rated
I think every other place is over rated
I-I think (I think)
I'm just a midwest kid
I'm just a (I'm just a midwest kid)
I never knew it'd feel like this
(I never knew it'd feel like this)
ย
I'm just a midwest kid
I'm just a (I'm just a midwest kid)
I never knew it'd feel like this
(I never knew it'd feel like this)
ย
I'm just a midwest kid
I never knew it'd feel like this
I never knew it'd feel like death
