All Around The World

The lyrics express a desire for change shared across a whole country, especially by young people. The speaker calls for a “new direction” and a response to dissatisfaction, urging listeners to act rather than remain passive. The mood is energetic and hopeful, though the phrase “last chance” adds urgency: change feels necessary now, not someday.

“Destroy” is contrasted with wanting “a new life,” suggesting that rejecting the past is not enough; people should build something better. The image of a “youth explosion” conveys a sudden, powerful surge of energy and creativity, while “get up and move it” is a direct call to take action. The repeated search for something “new” makes the desire feel broad and ongoing, reaching “all around the world.”

The song balances innovation with respect for what came before. The speaker says the past cannot simply be dismissed, because it provides “foundations” to explore and build on. This leaves the meaning of “new” open: it might mean new ideas, new social arrangements, or simply a more hopeful way of living. The lyrics clearly demand movement, but they do not spell out exactly what change should look like.
