Yummy latkes and doughnuts to eat Fried in oil, Oh! What a treat Joined by our families, we celebrate The oil that burned for eight days straight The evil Greeks, a powerful army, marched into our holiest of sites They destroyed the Menorah so precious, and all the olive oil used to light The Maccabees, the few against the many, fearlessly they chased them all away And they returned to our Beis Hamikdash, they thanked Hashem and rested on that day Yummy latkes and doughnuts to eat Fried in oil, Oh! What a treat Joined by our families, we celebrate The oil that burned for eight days straight The Jews were so very excited, the Menorah's flames will once again shine bright But they could not find any pure oil with the Kohen Gadol's seal so tight They searched, they looked all around, and finally they found one jug of oil left to light And with Hashem's great miracle, the oil burned for eight whole days and nights Yummy latkes and doughnuts to eat Fried in oil, Oh! What a treat Joined by our families, we celebrate The oil that burned for eight days straight Latkes and doughnuts, latkes and doughnuts To remember the neis of Chanukah Latkes and doughnuts, latkes and doughnuts We use olive oil on Chanukah Latkes and doughnuts, latkes and doughnuts Eight straight nights, like the neis of Chanukah Latkes and doughnuts, latkes and doughnuts We light with oil, like the neis of Chanukah I help my Bubby make yummy latkes, I peel and grate potatoes. So much fun I watch them fry and dance in the oil, latkes for me, you and everyone I run around the block to the bakery, so many flavored doughnuts over there Chocolate, sprinkles, custard, caramel, and jelly! Delicious doughnuts everywhere Yummy latkes and doughnuts to eat Fried in oil, Oh! What a treat Joined by our families, we celebrate The oil that burned for eight days straight Yummy latkes and doughnuts to eat Fried in oil, Oh! What a treat Joined by our families, we celebrate The oil that burned for eight days straight
