From the bottom, me and my brother Shawn
All them nights on knew I had to hustle 'til dawn
Came a long way, still we got so far to go
Tunnel vision through the fog and the clouds of smoke
Inspirational thug music, spit bars of hope
Hopin' that you can hear me at times you need it most
Speakin' the word of God like a mosque or a church
Ghetto gospel flow, outlaw since birth
Thirst for success, every verse from the chest
Took the cards I was dealt and I played my hand
Seen too much in these streets but it made me a man
Hard to describe the feeling when I made my first grand
Hand to hand in front of 146
I was only like twelve, goin' on 26
The best and worst year of my life was '96
Still rap with a grudge and give a hundred percent
Every day I wake up, the devil say it's him again
Threw the black hoodie on and laced up the Timberlands
That's why we reminisce the resurrected thug angels
See 'em plottin', that's why I covered all angles
I took the cards I was dealt and I played my hand
Been through a lot in these streets but it made me a man
I guess everything that I went through was part of God's plan
'Cause I survived in the trenches and I still stand
So I'ma keep going as long as I can
I ain't perfect but I'm workin' and I know he understands
It's been a long ride, lost a couple of my mans
But I gotta keep it pushin' 'cause I gotta feed the fam
I started with no plan B
So I gave birth to the hustle that's deep inside of me
Now I stand in front of you a man
With many flaws but I'm good at 'em all
You can love me or leave me but you gon' miss me when I'm gone
I'm a rare breed, it's hard to find another like me
Unless we talkin' 'bout these niggas on the same song with me
Fronted on so many times, never lookin' back
'Cause I'm focused on today, you can run and tell that
Stand up for solid, always answered the call
I'm a shining example on what it means to be an outlaw
When niggas was runnin' around bumpin' into walls
I was still on the job, willing to work, borrow to rob
Now am I wrong?
'Cause I wanna be the last to keep it goin' on
Last one to leave 'til I see that everybody's gone
Look up at the sky, put my soul on these songs
You niggas know the real but you can tell 'em what you want
I took the cards I was dealt and I played my hand
Been through a lot in these streets but it made me a man
I guess everything that I went through was part of God's plan
'Cause I survived in the trenches and I still stand
So I'ma keep going as long as I can
I ain't perfect but I'm workin' and I know he understands
It's been a long ride, lost a couple of my mans
But I gotta keep it pushin' 'cause I gotta feed the fam
Everything I go through, yeah, it's in God's hands
Everything I went through, yeah, it's in God's hands
Everything I go through, yeah, it's in God's hands
Everything I went through, yeah, it's in God's hands
It's in God's hands
