Hollywood Babylon

The lyrics present Hollywood as a decadent, disturbing place where outsiders are excluded and public life seems mixed with sexual spectacle. Repeated questions about who arrived “for the ride” create a sense of watching a strange scene without knowing who belongs in it. The mood is provocative and unsettling rather than narrative: the song offers fragments and repetition, not a clear story or resolution.

“Hollywood Babylon” works as a label for a glamorous place imagined as corrupt or excessive. “You can’t come inside” suggests a closed world, though it could also mean rejection from a particular encounter. The image of citizens kneeling for sex makes sexuality sound like an object of worship or submission. “Flesh ancient monster design” may portray the human body as strange, grotesque, or shaped by primal forces, but the phrase is deliberately obscure.

The lyrics may be mocking celebrity culture, sexual spectacle, or the idea that Hollywood is both attractive and morally unsettling. Their blunt, exaggerated language supports a satirical reading, but it does not identify a specific target or explain what is happening. The repeated refrain keeps the meaning open: the song may be less a precise critique than a deliberately shocking collage of images.
