The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
The moon and the stars were the gifts you gave
To the dark and empty skies my love
To the dark and endless sky
And the first time ever I kissed your mouth
I felt the earth move in my hand
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird
That was there at my command,my love
That was there
And would last 'till the end of time, my love
It would last 'till the end of time
The first time ever I saw your face
