Friends, foes, what can I say?
I'm back for more, couldn't stay away
People ask, "Where's part three?"
You ready? You ready for me?
I'm taking you back to age 20
There was love, deceit, and mystery
When Shifty died, judge gave four years
The worst thing ever that a kid could hear
When you got a record, you're kinda screwed
So I got a job cleaning up hotel rooms
Then I saw a beauty that blew my mind
When a circus came to town one night
They threw a party at the banquet hall
That's where I met her, at the Chaplin Ball
Her name was Karla, I was so transfixed
A rush of blood straight to my- (whoa!)
Mysterious as a flight of doves
That's tailed me ever since I lost my mom
She invited me to watch her fly trapeze
Fuck parole, I do as I please
Nobody ever been there to look out for me
I'm all on my own in shit city
Nobody ever been there to look out for me
Caution to the wind and it feels real free
Should I do it? (Yeah!) Screw it? (Yeah!) Prove it? (Yeah!)
Even if it's risky? (Yeah!) Tricky? (Yeah!) Sticky? (Yeah!)
Okay, let it roll, okay, let it roll, whoa
We've got lions!
We've got bears!
We've got tigers in their underwears!
Step right up, Nicky!
Step right up!
Welcome to the circus!
I jumped in the back of a truck
I thought, "Oh man, holy fuck!"
The circus was tailor-made for me
Oddballs, misfits, living free
Karla kept her cards real close
She was hesitant to trust in folks
One night, we were out watching the stars on a truck
Bitch finally opened up her heart
My parents sent us on a ship in the night
Escaped the war, a fresh start at life
We docked at a little port town
Chaplin was out, sniffing around
Why two princesses want new dresses?
Show you love and what success is
For some reason, he liked me
So, I did some tricks, pockets, how mean
Jazzy hands, oh me likey! Come be a star, be like me!
Just like that, it came to be, Brittle Bones Nicky back to being tricky
Nobody ever been there to look out for me
I'm all on my own in circus city
Nobody ever been there to look out for me
Caution to the wind, man, it feels real free
Should I do it? (Yeah!) Screw it? (Yeah!) Prove it? (Yeah!)
Even if it's risky? (Yeah!) Tricky? (Yeah!) Sticky? (Yeah!)
Okay, let it roll, okay, let it roll
Who knew I'd become a star?
Still a fugitive, my life's bizarre
I promised I'd never steal again
"A foolproof plan", that's what Karla said
We'd escape from Chaplin's thumb
I didn't know the scary shit he'd done
Kept their money and papers in a safe
Key around his neck, girls knew their place
Could I say no? She's all I had
Risk was high, odds looked bad
In his box at intermission
My star performer, dope magician
A trick, you say? Give us a preview
Chaplin, could I demonstrate on you?
Yes, yes, impress these guests!
He had no clue I snatched the key from his neck
Can't wait for your closing act
If only they knew me and Karla's pact
She's on stage, I'm set to close
I snuck in, put the key in the hole
Got the papers, got the cash
Stuffed the bag, heart beating fast
My heart was beating fast
My heart was beating fast
Man, how long can I make this last?
Should I do it? (Yeah!) Screw it? (Yeah!) Prove it? (Yeah!)
Even if it's risky? (Yeah!) Tricky? (Yeah!) Sticky? (Yeah!)
Okay, let it roll, okay, let it roll
As the ring leader called out my name (Brittle Bones Nicky!)
Chap knew he'd been played
Pacing my spot, casing this lot
Is Karla coming? Karla is not
Is she caught by racing thoughts?
And, there she was, right on the dot
I didn't mean to fall in love, you better run
One last kiss
And Nicky, they've got guns!
Her heart was ripped, I was made a fool
She double-crossed me, it was fucking cruel!
It was fucking cruel!
She was fucking cruel (fucking cruel)
If it cost me my life, man, I'd save my only friend
That's something I could live with, I could take that 'til the end
Brittle Bones Nicky, not so crafty or tricky
But that son of a bitch won't fold
'Cause that son of a bitch is gold
Friends, foes, is there part four?
Who knows what tricks I've got in store?
But you know me (ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha)
I never close that door
