I met you on the steps at a barbecue
I said, "What'd you do today?" You told me, "Baby, I flew"
You took your solo flight for the very first time
I said, "Hey, Top Gun, take me up sometime"
Sundown in the city, I saw you there
Dancing to Guster with your long blonde hair
Something in your spirit was wild and free
I said, "Honey, that's the spirit for me"
I said, "Hey (hey), no (no), never gonna let you go
I said, "Hey (hey), no (no), never gonna let you go
Jumping off a boat on Percy Priest Lake
Bobby's seventh beer was his first mistake
Sam went flying off the highest rock
He did a double backflip, 35-foot drop
Time slows down, all you do is float
You can't go skiing 'cause the boat's too slow
Laughing and singing 'til the sun went down
Gonna keep these people around
I said, "Hey (hey), no (no), never gonna let you go
I said, "Hey (hey), no (no), never gonna let you go
We get older, we get better
I hope we all grow old together
I said, "Hey (hey), no (no), never gonna let you go
Bike ride, fireside
Old photograph, trying to make you laugh, talking on the sideline
It's a storyline that I hope goes on forever
I said, "Hey (hey), no (no), never gonna let you go
I said, "Hey (hey), no (no), never gonna let you go (whoo!)
We get older, we get better
I hope we all grow old together
I said, "Hey (hey), no (no), never gonna let you go
You find gold, you hold on
You find gold, you hold on
You find gold, you hold on
Never gonna let you go (whoo!)
And you find gold, you hold on
And you find gold, you hold on
When you find gold, you hold on
Never gonna let you go
