Iron Lion Zion

The speaker describes being in danger and having to flee to protect his life. The repeated promise to become “iron” suggests a shift from fear and escape toward strength and determination. The song’s repeated refrain gives this resolve a steady, almost chant-like feeling.

“Run like a fugitive” means escaping from danger or pursuit; it may describe a real threat or express a more general feeling of being hunted. “Iron” suggests toughness and resilience, while a lion commonly suggests courage and power. “Zion” can be understood as a place of safety or hope, though the lyrics do not explain exactly what it means here.

The song also mentions people fighting a “tribal war” because they want to be stars, hinting at conflict driven by rivalry or ambition. The contrast between running and standing strong remains unresolved: the speaker is still on the run, yet imagines becoming fearless. The repeated words may matter as much for their sound and force as for a single, precise meaning.
