Lyrics
The title of a new EP record by four young Solihull bands featuring
New wave, future wave and disco sounds. The four groups, The Accused
021, The Cracked Actors and The Undertakers have shared the £380 cost
Of producing the record and have said to promote it themselves by
Hiring Solihull Civic Hall for a concert. Well, I think that's
Terrific and I'm gonna play you three tracks from it. The Boys and I
Don't Care. And I think it's magnificent they got together and
Made their own record. I'm very impressed indeed. And there are a
Lot of people doing it and I hope more people do it and the more
The merrier. And Mike Reed, as you've already realized, is now
Starting to play some of these things as well. And there's another
Message written on the record too, handwritten label of course
So it sounds bad to say the least and of course the sound quality
Isn't perfect by any means but that's not really the point I think
Certainly now we're moving into another one of those good periods
When you get, you know, just like a couple of weeks sometimes where
There's really not much going on but it's getting, the next couple
Of weeks could be terrific, I don't know. It's 9:30 and time for
The news. It seems as though every young hooligan in the country's
Making a record these days and it's a great pity that they never
Really got round to recording some of us old hooligans. Anyway
Those are The Boys, that's their single on Nems and it's called I
Don't Care. A little Van Morrison
Now with Dr. John at the piano forte
