He's on a quest, at his best and it's no vex
He's back on the track, bumpin' all of the new jacks
The '90s a new game, it's time for a new change
But only if your name is Super Fly
Fallen times, 1990, I was super fly high
Breathin' hard for a partner, I knew soon he would die
Blame the man, he planted the seed
And because of your greed, the weak and strong one had to feed
But it's fair, nowhere, takin' three's, dick and Jane
As I spill all my guts, 'cause love's not the same
There are those who think I'm Soul Shack
There are some who call me super flat
Felt the world was all against me
I had to leave just to be free
Took some time to make my body clean
And now I'm back on the street scene
Between a rock and a hard place
Still my past leaves a distaste
I know some don't wanna see me die
Super Fly gives a super try
Workin' hard for my self redeem
Don't you push 'cause I can be mean
So you try to escape into your middle class
I know your ways of life and I can get your ass
I know the way you hide, I know your selfish ways
I know your kind of trip, I know your time of day
Your ambitions, destructions and your senseless laws
It's like two faces you are and it's goin' too far
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Super Fly, Super Fly, give a super try
Super Fly, give a super try
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Super Fly, give a super try
Super Fly, give a super try
Let's just say I've been born again
I wanna love and be a real friend
I'm gonna stand when I think I can
Conquer self and be a real man
You be careful doin' things you do
Don't make people so afraid of you
You know for freedom, you may have to fight
So that the world of love be alright
Super Fly, 1990, that's my title, my class
And I'm trouble for trouble and I'll knock you down fast
If you're aware of me, then be aware of the thief
Beware of times and what might be your belief
Beware of your friends who might just bring you grief
Beware of the substance that may give you sweet relief
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Super Fly, Super Fly, give a super try
Super Fly, give a super try
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Super Fly, give a super try
Super Fly, give a super try
There are those who think I'm Soul Shack
And there are some who call me super flat
Felt the world was all against me
I had to leave just to be free
Took some time to make my body clean
Now I'm back on the street scene
Between a rock and a hard place
Still my past leaves a distaste
I'm workin' hard for my self redeem
Can't you see I gotta be me?
I know some don't wanna see me die
Super Fly gives a super try
