Lyrics
Here come a song about star crossed lovers
Named Lily and Tres
Two kids in the barrio
Via east LA
Lily always looked at him like a brother
โTil one day something changed
He started acting all moonstruck
You know the movie with young Nick Cage
Well One Love was the song she played
In her bedroom when she took him all the way
With a Princess Bride poster on the wall
And her parents at the end of the hall
โNot even death can stop true love
It only delays it for a whileโ
โI get crushes sometimes
But none of them ever lasted
I miss you all the time
And Iโm smoking on your ashes
Baby you and I are soul mates
From the same place
That doesnโt happen every dayโ
Lily always knew that she wanted his baby
And they tried and tried
Even through all the chemo
Oh my my
She caught a feeling that she remembered
In her fatherโs Dodger blue
Laying on his lap looking up at the man
He turned into
Well young love is life and death
And thatโs what it was โtil his very last breath
And a light flashed above the bed
With the rest of her life ahead
โNot even death can stop true love
It only delays it for a whileโ
โI get crushes sometimes
But none of them ever lasted
I miss you all the time
And Iโm smoking on your ashes
Baby you and I are soul mates
From the same place
That doesnโt happen every dayโ
This is the story โbout star crossed lovers
Named Lily and Tres
Cupid hit the bullseye
Somewhere in east LA
