Lyrics
He said "Come on in boy, sit on down"
Then he poured himself a Coke and Crown
Sat back in my chair as he took a sip
And my old man, yeah he told me this
"Well if you don't wanna follow in my shoes
Then I don't want this life for you
Yeah we're out of work half the time
Because the crops don't grow if the sun don't shine"
Yeah this world is so big
And our place in it's getting small
If I'd have known any better
I'd have ran from it all
I just want you to know
All we got is a little time
You don't gotta be a small town farm boy
Waiting on the sun to shine
"Yeah I know you love that guitar
And those songs you write can take you far
Far away from these old county lines
Just do what you love and you'll be fine"
Yeah this world is so big
And our place in it's getting small
If I'd have known any better
I'd have ran from it all
I just want you to know
All we got is a little time
You don't gotta be a small town farm boy
Waiting on the sun to shine
Yeah this world is so big
And our place in it's getting small
If I'd have known any better
I'd probably ran from it all
I just want you to know
All we got is a little time
You don't gotta be a small town farm boy
Waiting on the sun to shine
