Don't argue with a fool, for she will hurt you
The best that you can do is step away
Don't tie yourself to children, they'll desert you
Fools and children live as if it's just today
Much contention causes losses and estrangement
Isolation is a sickness unto death
Loss of love is a short pathway to derangement
Which is why I say, make peace with every breath
Don't get angry if you're called the worst of many
Don't withdraw your hands from all that they can do
Those who would deny your love may not have any
For the best of folks will see the best in you
If you're asked to do a favor by your brother
Even if it is an overwhelming task
Don't ignore it nor exchange it for another
Undertake to do it just because he asks
ย
Don't get angry if you're called the worst of many
Don't withdraw your hands from all that they can do
Those who would deny your love may not have any
For the best of folks will see the best in you
Mention misdeeds of a loved one in his presence
Lest the deadly pharaoh claim his every hair
When a cherished one is mentioned in her absence
Say what she would want to hear if she were there
You'll meet friends through other friends and they'll be stronger
The way to trust and faith is faith and trust
Revere those first friends for their love is longer
For the devil, for the devil's way's a bust
Don't get angry if you're called the worst of many
Don't withdraw your hands from all that they can do
Those who would deny your love may not have any
For the best of folks will see the best in you
