Searching this world for the meaning of life
I opened up an old bible one night
The word of God moved me to my knees to pray
I stood up a new man, the old me had passed away
I never knew life (I never knew life)
Until I was born again
I never knew love (I never knew love)
'Til I let my dear Savior in
I thought I had done some living, but now I believe
I never knew life
'Til I met the one who died for me
ย
The blood that stained Calvary's Hill long ago
Still has the power to save a lost soul
Flowing with mercy for someone like me
Living a lie 'til the truth finally set me free
I never knew life (I never knew life)
Until I was born again
I never knew love (I never knew love)
'Til I let my dear Savior in
I thought I had done some living, but now I believe
I never knew life
'Til I met the one who died for me
