U-T-F-O!
[Hook: Kool G Rap & (Dre)
Marcy, Albany, Greenpoint, Queensville, Bronx River
Life in the projects!
Boulder Ground, Smurf, Williamsburg, Hick House, Franklin
Life in the projects!
Three teenagers murdered with an M-16
Three more dead and buried, worse than guillotine
Innocent souls eradicated by a trigger finger
It's a bigger finger for the gravedigger
Out in the projects in a fight you get sliced up
Media's hyped up, crackhead girls are priced up
Living in ghetto heaven, say hello to your death wish
Digging in the garbage can is the bum's best diss
Children are maturing faster, acting grown up
Who breaks the phones up? Likkle break the homes up
Nubians suffering in the penitentiary
Doing hard time 'til the turn of the century
Primary references for them is the peer group
Drinking up the 40 ounce and sitting down on their stoop
Ugliness and ignorance brings about depression
Crime is a profession, now who's learning a lesson?
[Hook: Kool G Rap & (Dre)
Harbor, Bushwick, Compton, Elchee, Red Hook
Life in the projects!
Edenwald, Roosevelt, Foyers, St. Nicholas, Boston
Life in the projects!
Mothers bearing daughters who are pregnant with gourdes
Sisters cracked out, served with court orders
Pops has a big beer belly, he's demented
He's losing all his nuggets, but that could be prevented
Teachers need nightsticks, not just some chalk
They implement a metal detector in New York
Police shoot first, ask questions later
Said he was doing his job, he might be a block hater
High temperature of summer, people getting dumber
These Flatbush shits pumped up by the drummer
Satan has risen up through our televisions
Programmed our children to make their own decisions
Paranoid women keep clutching at their pocketbooks
Crime, crack brooks with sinister looks
Life in your projects ain't a bed of roses
Getting much worse in case you haven't noticed
[Hook: Kool G Rap & (Dre)
Gowanus, Fort Greene, Vetterberg, Lipo, Cypress
Life in the projects!
Duncan, Lincoln, Woodside, Adams, Taft
Life in the projects!
They wouldn't bust off your head, they're employed by a dread
Lucky for you, they sell ice instead
Walk into the projects, you can see the hardness
The young and the restless, heartless and the smartness
Fades, high-tops, fashionable gold fronts
Might even see a rough girl rolling blunts
Weaves, opposite of African gear
Big stupid earrings and the jeep is over there
Where the gambling casino is, we know
After three o'clock they hustling up some c-note
You can see the baby carriages, broken marriages
Unhappy faces, emptiness and savageness
Makes me feel like shedding a tear, or two I hide it
I believe the bloodshed and killing, Satan supplied it
Plenty of boredom, idle time, unemployment
Fridays and Saturdays, eager for enjoyment
[Hook: Kool G Rap & (Dre)
Sumner, Greenpoint, Brownsville, Linden
Life in the projects!
Marlborough, Jefferson, Farragut, Jackie Robinson, Webster
Life in the projects!
What's got a hold of our youth? It must be racism
It must be Satan the Devil touching base with him
Young cocky adults, the disappearance of childhood
There's no longer innocence, let's label it wildin'
High school dropouts, drop in and then they cop out
Babies are exposed to this as soon as they pop out
TV programming is nothing but a ploy
Sale of a Kotex, phone sex for a boy
Instead of Bugs Bunny they'd rather watch the soaps
Jugs, sluts, big butts, and false hopes
Parents work two jobs, they left home unattended
Unruly, undisciplined, and some are apprehended
By police, they release their anger and get shot down
They crawled up and brawled up and now they squat down
In the squad car, makes me feel pain
What do you have to gain? What are you insane?
[Outro: Kool G Rap & (Dre)
U-T-F-O!
Life in the projects!
Yo, let me get a dollar, man
Yo, yo, yo, Leroy
Life in the projects!
Yo, let me get some of that 40 ounce, man
Yo, why you hogging it, man?
Life in the projects!
Fuck that!
Yo, you don't buy VCR?
Life in the projects!
Queensbridge, Cypress, Broadneck, Howard
Lick 'em, bloodclaat head!
Yo, yo, yo, you dissing me?
Lick 'em, bloodclaat!
Lick 'em!
You got to have a bombaclaat!
