I was born in Louisiana and raised on the Texas side
Born in Louisiana and raised on the Texas side
That makes me a true citizen, more than one realize
Texas and Louisiana is just a few feet apart
I go 'round the planet, that's where I got my start
'Cause I was born in Louisiana and raised on the Texas side
That makes me a true citizen, more than one realize
My mother came from Louisiana, my father, I don't know from where
And if you ever asked me, I would say that I don't care
'Cause I was born in Louisiana and raised on the Texas side
I was way past 21 when my father said goodbye
