Lyrics meaning
The lyrics describe a speaker who becomes intensely possessive of someone. At first, he insists that the person belongs with him and that escape is impossible. The mood then shifts from confident pursuit to panic and regret: he recalls taking the person, repeatedly calls it a mistake, and questions what has changed in him. The repeated lines make his thoughts sound trapped and increasingly uncontrolled.
Several images suggest confinement and control. โAll the doors are locked, all the windows shutโ makes the personโs lack of freedom concrete, while โI watch youโ and โnever leave my sideโ suggest constant surveillance. The line โIf you let me bother youโ sounds like a dark, sarcastic invitation: the speaker presents his harassment as something the other person might permit, even though the surrounding threats show otherwise. โYou brought it out of meโ shifts blame onto the captive person rather than accepting responsibility.
The song can be read as a portrayal of obsession turning into coercion, not as a healthy relationship. Yet the repeated โI canโt believe Iโm doing thisโ leaves some ambiguity: it may show genuine shock or inner conflict, but it does not undo the speakerโs actions. The harsh language and repetition emphasize rage, fixation, and a disturbing struggle between knowing something is wrong and continuing anyway.
