The Great Overgrowth
Comes to help you process
I can't see it myself
But you notice
A change in air
Fill my lungs up forest
These days feel green
Evergreen's returning
I feel great today
Or was it yesterday
The flowers change
And they'll make you wait
I can feel it growing between the cracks
It's slow, but it sustains
I felt great today
Stealing a minute away from the week
I can almost hear the quiet
Not for the hum in my head
It gets so dense
I feel great today
Or was it yesterday
The flowers change
And they'll make you wait
Trees grow
The showers fill the earth below
Change comes
When insects climb across my bones
And I know the nettles make space below
The overgrowth stops and asks me why?
I feel great today
Or was it yesterday
The flowers change
And they'll make you wait
I feel great today
Or was it yesterday
The flowers change
But I'll make them wait.
