When I was twelve years, my worst fear was passing junior waec
Then I wrote my Jamb and got 210 on my first attempt
I didn't get admission, then I went ahead to do Jupeb, in Uniben, Biochem
The D's I got in 300 put my 2.2 in a long stretch
I wasn't sure of success, a gamble not a sure bet
Couple odds were stacked against me but

Let me tell you about my second mom, that's my lovely aunty

Cos she didn't have a kid and at the time she wasn't married
One day I saw my mom viewing pictures of a purse, on her phone
Asked her what's the price of one, when she told me I was hurt
Cos her precious son, lacked the precious funds to afford her one
Was bothered but it really gets better cos
I woke up one day and I fucking graduated man
Woke up one day and sent that money to my mommy
And I woke up one day and my aunt was getting married
I couldn't forget her face, it was bright and she was smiling
And I woke up one day, they told me I was an uncle
My sister put to birth, I had a niece and now a nephew
And after all the troubles the sun go still shine again
It rained heavy yesterday but the water go dry today

You worrying about stuff that next year is not gonna mean a whit to you
