Lyrics
One walks in and one walks out
Mum and Dad are working hard
When one's on shift, the other's home
Then they swap and we are never left alone
I'll wait up for you
I'll try to wait up for you
My dad flies in and flies out
He wears his hi-vis shirt around
We miss him when he's gone so long
He flies to work, 15 more sleeps till he's about
He says, "I love you"
Says I'm the reason he can't wait to be home (Wait to be home)
He can't wait to be home (Wait to be home)
He can't wait to be home (Wait to be home)
He can't wait to be home (Wait to be home)
My mum's work's never the same
A different town and a new stage
Every now and then I get to go
But when I don't, I miss her kisses on my nose
So we FaceTime
So she can show me around
My mum flies in and flies out
She gets a taxi to the airport
How many days I'll have to wait
To run down the hall and jump in her embrace
She says, "I'll miss you"
Says I'm the reason she can't wait to be home (Wait to be home)
She can't wait to be home (Wait to be home)
She can't wait to be home (Wait to be home)
She can't wait to be home (Wait to be home)
I know some families are like mine
There are some whose mums and dads work nine to five
Which means that by night time
Parents are home and they can tuck them into bed
But that's not how we do it
No less love, just different
While you're gone, I'll miss you
You'll miss me and you can't wait to be home (Wait to be home)
You can't wait to be home (Wait to be home)
And I can't wait till you're home (Wait to be home)
Oh, I can't wait till you're home (Wait to be home)
