Lyrics
In Peckham's heart, a boy was raised
With dreams that soared, ambitions blazed
An Irish mum, a father's pride
From mixed roots grew a star worldwide
In London's heart, he learned to fly
Gymnastics trained his body high
But football called, he couldn't wait
At West Ham's doors, he sealed his fate
Five-star Rio, defensive ace
Old Trafford's rock with effortless grace
Ferdinand's the name that echoes loud
Making Stretford End forever proud
At Leeds he wore the captain's band
Youngest leader in the land
Then United came knocking at his door
A record fee, they paid once more
He faced the ban, he faced the test
Came back stronger than the rest
Six league titles to his name
He rose above, he won the game
England's rock for eighty-one games
Three World Cups, wrote his name in flames
Euro absence, yet his talent undoubted
National treasure, highly touted
QPR swan song, career's last dance
Pundit's chair, gave fans a new stance
From Ayia Napa to OBE
Rio's journey, football royalty
Five-star Rio, defensive ace
Old Trafford's rock with effortless grace
Ferdinand's the name that echoes loud
Making Stretford End forever proud
