Lyrics
I got a friend with a habit
Habit of running away
He says he can't take it
He takes it every day
He takes it like the hungry
Lonely man he is
Inside his need a soul I see
Burning in a raging blaze
Come on John and make it
Come on John it's life takin'
Too long now you've been staring at the moon
Reflected in the liquid dripping in your spoon
I know you're alive I've seen you light up a room
Come on John, come on come on
His woman left him crying
She could never please
She could not get past his arms
She couldn't get on his knees
Now me I see a future
Could be clear and free
I know there is a spirit there
I know so does he
Come on John and make it
Come on John it's life takin'
Too tired of self-abuse
It's not easy when you're confused
I know you're alive I've seen you light up a room
Come on John, come on come on
I got a friend with a habit
Habit of running away
He says he can't take it
He takes it every day
