God, I just, I just need you to guide me
It's so much going on in my life, and I
I know you wanna bring me through it, I know you got me
But it's hard right now and I need you
I need you now more than I ever needed you, God, please
Look, one way trip to prison, L.A. County into the mountains
Bunch of niggas on the bus that never got the counselin'
Instead, they gangbanged, they sold dope and broke in houses
It started with the parents livin' poor with broken spouses
Feed me sack lunches in the plastic pouches
Got me feelin' fucked over, like the castin' couches
Dirty face, dirty hair up in my mugshot
Tower cop all on the speaker makin' brash announcements
Fadin' inside of the cell
Satan keep on tryna bring the flagrantest fires from hell
But Lord, Your water on me far and as wide as a well
It's gettin' dark, I wanna cry, but gotta inspire as well, yeah
Old friends switchin' on me
New York Times pissin' on me
TMZ here tellin' lies on television on me
My opps workin' overtime to put this image on me
But God is finna push the line, like it's a scrimmage on me
Mom a soldier and you gave birth to a warrior
Ain't a secret like it's knocked off Victoria
Seven hours been in shackles sittin' in the court tanks
We ain't ate in hours 'cause the police ignorin' us
County jail cryin' real tears to Iggy Azalea
I know you put up with some shit that just wasn't familiar
I loved your ear and loved your heart, though you wasn't Amelia
They lyin', tryin' to get me fucked, but I wasn't Cecilia
YoungDaveBangin on the beat
He in the ER right now producin' this in critical condition
I'm recordin' up in state prison
It's fair to say we Black and beat the odds of both statistics
Both of us supposed to be either dead or in jail
But he been close to death, and I'm in jail and still prevailed
God willin', this go number one from in the cell
It won't be long before the release date's is in the mail
Yeah, uh
Tears fallin' on my phone calls, everything was all wrong
County jail, orange paint, the image that I'm Don Juan
Sentence day, I'm thinkin' any minute I could be long gone
It's wintertime, I'm in the cell
A nigga freezin' in a pair of "Men's Central Jail" Long John's
Enemies celebratin' Christmas Day
I'm layin' in the cell without my son, like fuck are y'all on?
Those nights were treacherous
Buy a gram of heroin and use it as leverage
Black clouds floatin' over me, I need severance
Niggas overdosin' off Suboxone and medicines
Yeah, God save me, I'm repenting for my early sins
My only goal is see it clear like I'm a blurry lens
You niggas softer than some furry pants
And off the walk out, I need 30 M's
Guide me through the storm
Guide me through the storm
(Feelin' something that's raining down, that's raining down)
Guide me through the storm (ooh)
(You know I need your saving)
Guide me through the storm
(Oh, I need your saving now)
Guide me through the storm
(Oh, guide, oh, guide me)
Guide me through the storm
(It's all coming down, you got me layin' down)
Guide me through the storm
(You know all about it, and You've been right there)
Guide me through the storm
(You know what I'm talking about, so guide me through that storm)
Daystar, my beautiful son
As your father, I was distraught the day when they took my innocent son to prison
And for two weeks straight, every day that the sun had risen
I felt like I had a 20-pound weight sitting on my chest
Still I knew that God had allowed his test
That it was not just about you, but also about the others
The many other incarcerated sisters and brothers
That's when I gave you to God, knowing that He would keep you covered
And in the realm of the Spirit, that's where I hovered like an eagle in flight
A samurai proud warrior against the witches and warlocks
Pulling down strong holes of witchcraft
Divination, necromancy, familiar spirits
Clairvoyant projections, psychic phenomena
That war to keep the souls of men and women created in God's own image in bondage
And away from their families in a bid to create the next generation
Of pissed off children angry at a system
Just so Satan could keep the hungry prison-industrial complex fed
To the tune of 82 thousand dollars per head
While they barter and trade the souls of people in the New York Stock Exchange
In exchange for money and wealth
Now there's a crack in their building and it's beginning to crumble
'Cause God alone, only God can keep these wicked men humble
Dear Heavenly Father, as You have guided Daystar
We pray that You would now guide the many nameless faces
Of men and women in prison, Lord God, sovereign God
You are the one, the only one that has guided us
Now also guide them, guide them through the storm, Father
Guide them through the storm in the name of Jesus
Said I need you more than ever (said I need)
Guide me (ooh), guide me
Come on and guide me
Guide me (oh)
Oh, guide me now
Guide me (oh)
Come on and guide me now (oh)
Guide me (oh)
Come on and guide me now
Guide me (oh, oh)
Guide me now
